Man, it's been a while. Anyway, here's my latest idea. The site is open, but not quite done. And this is just a plot. The overall conflict in the story is still under work. Any ideas for that would be great. --------------------------------------------------------- The Large Hadron Collider finally was activated in 2009. However, there was an accident. The exact details were kept secret, but the fact was unmistakable. The device was not dismantled, it was instead just shut down. And it remained undisturbed. Life went on normally until 2012. Humanity made advances, discovered new technology, and fought their wars. Just as they always have since they came onto the Earth. But then, someone dug a hole into the reaction chamber. It was then fixed and activated. No one knows what country, and everyone is pointing fingers. But that is far from their biggest problem. You see, when it was activated, large, red spheres came flying out and across the Earth. These spheres were attracted to sentient life, and thus smashed into populated areas. But it was what they did when they hit that was the problem. Along with the normal destruction, it released a gas that scrambled the DNA of the human that breathed it. This DNA scrambling turned Humans into a wide variety of animals. None of them could remember their lives as humans. The various world governments tried to keep this all very hush-hush. That had no hope of working right from the start. But they also tried to slaughter those affected by the gas. This proved itself to work for a time, but fail in the end. There were so many variations, and each had specific pros and cons. There remains only one city above ground. Two more are below. And a fourth is being made that can float above the ground. And on all faces of the world remain those affected. Hungry, mostly violent, and stalking the Earth endlessly for food. Will humanity survive or even thrive in these harsh conditions? Or will they fall to the horde of the Beasts? --------------------------------------------------- And the site is here. |
