Ok, Next idea on the line. As always, critique is more than welcome. This is also my last idea *wonders if this is good or bad*, just letting you know. 1945 During the Japanese surrender ceremony, a huge, cylindrical object comes streaking overhead to splash down in the Mid-Pacific. The resulting tidal wave causes enormous amounts of damage to all Pacific coastline. Much speculation rises about the object itself. It is a perfect cylinder, measuring ten miles long and exactly 7.85 cubic miles in volume. Over the next several years, 11 more came down into various oceans. 2008 The mysterious objects have finished dumping their payload of seawater, leaving Earth covered completely in ocean. The extra-terrestrials responsible for this act have finally shown their ugly faces and inhabited most of the seas. The critters they brought with them on their Ark have completely replaced the previous ecosystem. And humanity has been forced to scrape a living off whatever they can find. The extra-terrestrials who created the Cylinder were from the Vermillian Empire. The empire had lost a vicious intergalactic war, and the only race left was now seeking refuge on another planet. In an attempt to recreate their homeworld, they bred their own nasty critters and took over our ecosystem. As a species that found the Vermillians, the Air dwellers were taken as slaves to keep them from leaving the planet and carrying its location with them. But in the Rebellion act in 1999, they escaped. A few still remain, but the vast majority now live purely in the air. However, they failed to bring down the Vermillians and complete the operation. There is no lack of war. The Humans remaining are trying time and time again to force out the Vermillians. The Vermillians are trying just as hard to force out the Humans. And scattered around the planet-wide ocean, bandits of all species lash out at any ships for a quick buck. This is the world you're in. Whether you're in it for long is up to you. And the site is here.

Oh yay site!!! Quickly joins!
I like your new idea but could you give us a bit more of an idea of what the Vermillions and Air dwellers are like? Are the fish faced people and birds? Or do they look like mermaids and wind spirits?

lol And there's apparently another to come, because my mind has just thought up another idea and apparently won't stop.
And besides, when(if) the staff positions start filling up, the site should almost run itself without me. I specifically made it that way.
Anyway, I have just thought up another incredible idea. It's still just in my head and only my head, so I'm just winging this plot here. And this is also my first fantasy, so wish me luck. Anyways, here it goes:
There used to be magic in the world. Tons of magical creatures wandered freely across the Earth, and many had some, if a low amount, of a magical aura in them. People were using their magic in their everyday lives, where ever they could, unless they wanted to do it themselves. But it wasn't without limits. spells required Aura, of which every person was born with a limit on. Aura could be used, then restored through rest, but only up to a point. Magic didn't 'stick' to objects; lead would cease to be gold as soon as the spell caster broke focus. The only time it did was with Lightstones, and those were made with a rare, deep-earth mineral. And those would only cast light, anyways. However, despite these hardships, Magic continued to thrive.
But when Christianity was born, a religious plague of "witch hunters" killed the main wizards and witches, striking fear into the rest. After a long time of this reign, magic became forgotten. Long after the Roman empire collapsed and the Witch Hunters were no more, there was no spells. Carnivals were held, but they no longer held the same joy and appreciation.
Until, in the late 12th century, magic became rediscovered. It spread across the world, and humanity was restored to the old ways. The air was thick with joy as people reclaimed this tradition. The magical creatures, in hiding since the Christian Days, came back out, and a thicket of life returned to the world. This thicket lasted for almost another six centuries, and in the mid-18th century AD, it was in threat of being destroyed again. This was not, however, a religious uprising, but it was still just as huge. And caused by plain old hot water.
The Industrial Revolution.
Steam technology began filling what magic couldn't do. But it continued to grow, and replaced magic in many areas. "Magic for the auraless", it was called. Trains, boats, even blimps all became more popular than the slow horses and aura-costly transportation spells. Lightbulbs lasted longer than candles, and provided much more light than Lightstones. And you just needed money, of which anyone could have a huge amount.
All these inventions stirred a huge political war between inventors and the remaining magic-users. The war was near physical. Nobody died, because the governments around the world agreed to lay down a law. It was never named, only known as The Law.
It stated that the purposes of magic and technology would not interfere. Technology would be restricted to the areas of lighting, heating, and transportation. Magic would be given the rest. Weaponry and warfare would be shared between the two.
This law ended the war. But this is not about all that. This is afterwards, in the 1873 America. Here, chaos has erupted on the streets. Criminals to The Law have formed together and become somewhat powerful. They are more powerful than the cops who chase them, and the government fears them for this.
And now, in a volatile region, a match has been lit. An ancient city, said to hold an object capable of unleashing limitless power in the user, has just been found. The exact location, however, was lost when the letter holding it fell into a river. Nonetheless, both sides saw the potential of this object in their hands. Criminals and government alike scattered across the western territories to find it.
Who will find it, and when? Only time will tell...
