"Bloody hell, Price! You've waited nine years to get me and your throwing it all away this fast!" Cat held up a tabloid with a very believable picture of Abbott and a random curly haired female who's face wasn't visible. In large black letters the words 'Powell and Price: A Thing of The Past?' were printed on the front.
"What are you talking about?" Abbott shouted. "So now you believe that rubbish, do you? I would....never I never...the only girl in my life is you. That's how it is and how it's going to be!" He sighed. "Honestly, do you think I would cheat on you?"
Cat felt as if she were being watched by a pair of beady little eyes, but she wasn't breaking her furious stare from Abbott. "There's no thought to it. There's proof!" She waved the magazine for Abbott to see.
"Those aren't real pictures, Cat! I never did any of that and I don't even recognize the girl!" He snapped.
"Not real pictures?!" She laughed sickened. "Take a look, Price! What do you call that?" She threw the magazine at him. Dahlia entered the room, feigning innocence.
"Ab, what's the matter?" She tilted her head to the side. "Did you do something to tick your girlfriend off? Bad Abbott." A snicker escaped her mouth. Cat turned to see the infamous little girl herself. She snarled at Dally and her eyes burned with a flame that dared her to say another word.
"Dally, why don't you go watch television or something? ...in your room." He hissed, glowering over at his sister. Abbott looked at the magazine and his eyes darkened. "It's rubbish! I swear!"
"But Abbott, I want to see you get your ass kicked!" Dally whined. "I mean...the television in the living room is much bigger than the one in mine!" If it weren't illegal, Cat would have smacked Dally right there, but she didn't.
"You really should go!" She snarled, hate sparking in her words.
"Who's going to make me? Abbott doesn't have a back bone and even if he thinks he can he'd never replace mum or Tom. He was a better man than Abbott will ever be. Besides, sometimes I wish Abbott would've just kicked the bucket. The world would've been a whole lot better off!" Dally fumed and stormed off. Abbott stood there motionless. He bit his lip, shoving his hands in his pockets, eyes darkening. He said nothing.
"Wha-" Cat was blown away. She had truly underestimated the devil in Dahl. "Are you serious?" She looked to Abbott after Dally had left.
"About what?" Abbott murmured. "I'll deal with her later." He added, softly. "Now, you've met Dahlia Fisher. Charming, ain't she?" He hissed. changing his tone.
"The nut doesn't fall far from the tree." Was that the expression? Cat didn't care. She wasn't letting Abbott change the subject.
"I'm nothing like Dahlia! And haven't I told you that it wasn't me. A) I've never seen that girl in my life. B) I would never cheat on you nor would I want to hurt you in any way. And C) Since when do you believe tabloids and what they say? Listen to me, Rina. I never! I never did that. ANY OF IT!"
"I-I-I don't know..." She wasn't giving up. "I don't believe you..."
"Damn it Rina. Who do you think I am? Can I never be good enough for anyone? I was never good enough for my stepfather, Dahlia, and my own mother. Damn it, my own mum! I've probably let her down so many bloody times." He shut his eyes. "And now she's gone and Dahl hates me even more and this and..." He groaned. "What the hell can I do to make you just believe me when I say.... I didn't snog any girl. Those pictures are fake! I have no clue who threw them together, but I have no memory of any of it because it never happened!"
Cat slid down the wall and hid her face in her arms. "I can't do this, Price."
"Can't do what?" He glanced over at her.
"This." She looked up. "I can't do the fighting and the yelling. I can't handle...us."
"Fine ...if that's what you want. Are you saying we're over because that's what it bloody well sounds like, Powell?" He glowered over at her. "Don't let the door slam on your way out." He hissed, rolling his eyes.
"Say bye to Dally for me." She flickered an annoyed smile and turned to walk out the door.
Abbott nodded silently. He walked towards the kitchen table and broke a vase, watching it shatter. He choked back tears and continued walking towards his bedroom. Dahlia stood in her doorway, watching everything, but said nothing. Abbott slammed the door shut and locked it.
Outside his room, Cat jumped as she heard something brake and slid down the wall of the hallway.
"Abbott?" Dahl called outside of his door.
"Get the hell out, Dahlia! Go paint the town red or something. I don't give a damn." He moaned. Dahlia shrugged and walked out of her brother's hotel room, tot seeming to be affected by the chaos around her even though she was the cause of it all.
Cat's eyes burned and her heart felt small. She looked up into the face of Dahlia and sighed, leaning her head against the wall. "What?"
"Nothing" Dahlia shrugged. "Just going out for a walk .....in case something else breaks" She snickered to herself.
Everything was broken! Cat thought. "Do you believe it?" She referred to the picture.
"Sure, I believe it! Abbott's a dolt." Dahlia laughed. "He ruined everything, and now he's paying the price." Dally felt no remorse at her words or the fact that every word she had said was a lie.
"It figures." Cat laughed sickened.
"Blokes are nothing, but scum." Dahlia shrugged. "Well see you later sometime, Powell."
"Bye." She whispered to herself. Dahlia was long gone. Cat toppled over in the hallway and sighed. She felt small and alone. She felt broken.
