Hi everyone,
I wrote a novel about 4 months ago (well, I finished at that time, haha) and I have been looking into publishing. Well, I know I should probably get a literary agent since I know virtually nothing about the business, and I've been reading several books and websites about that, but I am still a little unsure of how to begin a query letter, or any of that. Here's a bit of information about the book:
- It is a fantasy
- It has over 250 pages, and over 100,000 words
- That is with size 12 Times New Roman font, spacing 1.15
- Probably a YA fiction, to categorize it.
- I am editing it before sending any letters, and going through for any grammar typos, or anything, so it should be fairly polished.
So, there's a bit of info. I'm just looking for overall advice--something you definitely don't want to say in a query letter, anything that will catch an agent's eye... Well, thanks!! And I'll let you know if I get anywhere...though it could be a while, as I am still editing a lot. Thanks again for reading!

Well, I'm no literary Agent or anything, and I can't really say much about the, but maybe either of these will help? ClickClickI swear, I'm SOOOOOOO going to start writing again, just because I see that yours is over 250 pages.

Thanks! Those look interesting... I'll have to dig through the webpages and see what else there is to them. And thank you, but I will admit... It's a pain to edit at the same time!
