my idea

Ok, i'm new. But i need some help or just some comments on my book idea. So yah... here it is! Thanx peoplez!! ~Hya

Paul Warren, grew up in Germany during WW2.(do you people know any citys in Germany?). His father got shot when he was just 8 years old. His father was a Nazi soilder. His mother wasn't able to support them both without Paul's father, Max Warren to help them. So she sent him to(somewhere in some state) to a Hitler Youth program. His best friend Timmy was sent there too. And all therw the book, Pauls interviewed about living in the Hitler Youth. And there could be letters he even wrote to his mother. But Paul when he's younger, dosen't know why the Nazi Instructors are telling him and all of the other boys to hate Jews. He dosen't hate them, but then his friend begans to turn. His friend Timmy turns violent and is suddenly another person. Not Pauls best friend. And the book with have chapters where Paul tells us(the readers) of when he had to go out to war when he was only 12. And yah... Did i explain that well? Thats one of my ideas..

I, too, am shuffling around ideas, and know how frustrating it can be, so I'll help you out a little.

I like the concept. I can see it being controversial, but those books that are usually affect the reader more powerfully. It kind of reminds me of Swing Kids, a movie I saw way back when. But it's different in the way that the characters in the movie are just trying to have a personal opinion or a preference in a community so corrupt, while yours is based on understanding. With the right research (I suspect you have done so already) I can see this being something that you don't want to put down.

One thing I might suggest, is names that are German. Maybe you already considered it, and there's a good chance that it might just be something I do (I spend hour coming up with names for my characters based on meaning, sound, etc.). The name Paul means 'small', which works for your story, but it's got Latin origins. Max is also Latin, meaning 'greatest'. And Timothy is Greek, meaning 'to honor God'. The last name Warren means 'to stop, hold, or repel, to guard, keep off', but is from England/France, I believe. Once more, you might already have researched all this, in which case, sorry for wasting your time with this paragraph xP.

Berlin, is a city in Germany, by the way. Kind of a major one WWII-wise.

Other than that, I have nothing to say. It's a good idea, and I look foreward to seeing parts of it emerge.
