Okay, I thought up this idea. I'm not sure if it's going to take place in the past, or in modern times yet.
It's basically a take-off from "Little Miss Muffet". Emily Muffet has had a tragic past. Her mother was killed from a poisonous spider when Emily was only two, and her father had a heart attack when she was seven. She now lives with her grandmother in a small town in the country. So one day, she goes to the park, sits down on her "tuffet", and starts to eat her "curds and whey". A spider comes down and sits down beside her. Because her father always told her scary stories about how her mother died, she is extremely arachnophobic. She goes running off, and doesn't stop running. Unfortuantely, she was running the wrong way. Soon, she's lost, and no one seems to want to help a small little girl. It isn't long before she runs into some unlikely friends. In this story, Emily is fighting her way home and her extreme fear.
What do you think? Any feedback?

I like it. I think it will only work if you don't take it too seriously.

Thanks. What do you mean by 'don't take it too seriously'?
