Okay so I am always full of Ideas of all sorts so I am going to be like michael and make myself an ideas thread. Since I have a lot at the moment that I'd like commentary on I'll just start with the one that is on my mind at the moment ^^
Idea on my mind;
This idea is almost more of a concept at the moment then an actual idea but I've had it for a while so any suggestions or support would be loved X3
Alright so here it is story/prolouge style XD
For as long as there has been life, it has been divided into three subsections, each with it's own important role, called The Beings. The first and most obvious is the body. Our bodies are what give us our limits and substance. However our body would be useless without the other two Beings, the spirit, and the soul. Though they are often confused the differences between the spirit and the soul are as great as those of night and day. The spirit is what holds our personalities and our memories and allows us to be sane and able to adapt. Our souls hold our instincts and feelings and allow us to do things from breathing to falling in love. These three Beings come together in harmony in every living thing to create life. To remove even one from this harmony creates chaos in the being, if not complete death.
Sadly though cases in which one of the Beings is missing are all too common in the world today. We see cases which humans call comatose in which both the soul and the spirit are missing. Another case is known as amnesia in which the spirit has been destroyed or lost and left the creature to either find a new spirit, create a new one with time, or have there old one restored. And of course there have been reportings of "ghosts" where either the spirit , the soul, or both have lived on after the body rather then finding rest. However these are all just the most mild of cases possible when dealing with a living creature that has lost one of it's three Beings. Usually the results are much worse.
This is a story of one of those results, when a living creature looses it's soul. Unlike some cases where the body and the spirit go into the resting of comatose to wait for the return of the soul, in most cases the creature is changed rather then put to rest. A case that most humans can probably relate this to is vampires. When the soul is lost usually the creatures effected loose their instincts and in a need to replace them the spirit tries to create temporary instincts for the creature to find a soul, hopefully their own soul, but often another's. While their souls are missing they forgo normal behavior of their kind and follow their temporary instincts emotionlessly trying to find a new soul. They are often called vampires because of the fact that the human's imaginary creature was originally based off of one of these poor beings without souls, for the way to steal a new soul is by taking in their full life force, which is found through their blood.
The biggest problem with this is that a soul will usually reject the new body and spirit that has stolen it and die rather then mixing with the new creature. This causes the creature to have to seek out many many victims before they are returned to normal. Once they do find a soul that allows itself to merge with them though they usually either commit suicide from the sudden returning of their feelings and the guilt, or have become addicted to the kill and stealing of souls and will try to steal more and more so that they may become stronger. The ones that do continue to hunt for souls are the ones that are considered the most dangerous and evil, for they have back their normal instincts but choose to ignore them.
Of course where there is danger, knowledge must soon follow, and this case is no different. There are those few who know the truth of the three Beings, and their subcreations of life, who either choose to ignore it or try to set things right. The ones who try to set things right are ones who hunt these creatures and kill them before they can kill innocents or cause any mass panic. They devote them selves to keeping the secrets of life from being well known and also to keeping the three Beings in balance with each other. They are the ones who call themselves Trackers, for it is they who track down the threats to the balance of life and destroy them.
The story begins when a young girl named Claire is attacked by one of the "vampires" and has most of her soul stolen. By some miracle though the creature stealing her soul from her accidentally left the smallest part of it behind allowing her to barely hold onto her humanity. Trouble comes soon though in the shape of a young Tracker who is uncertain of whether Claire is an actual threat that he needs to kill, or a victim who's soul he needs to help save. In hopes of an answer he takes Claire with him in search of the creature who tried to steal her soul, but Claire's remaining soul is slowly fading and it is uncertain if she can hold on long enough to get her soul back, and possibly find a new peaceful way of curing the soulless ones.
Anyhow, yeah it is a rough idea I've been working on for a while now and I'd love to know what you guys think ^^
